McLaren Tractors was established in 2003 by George & Fiona McLaren to serve the farmers, crofters and sporting estates in the Highlands of Scotland. The business started with the Zetor tractor and Polaris ATV franchise and has grown over the years to include a number of high-quality brands and machines suited to the harsh environment of the North, such as Valtra from Finland and McHale from Ireland.
George McLaren, Company Director, has an HND in Engineering and, over 30 years experience in the industry and is committed to providing customers with the correct farm machinery for their needs.
There is a staff of eleven. George runs the sales department with James White as Territory Manager. The service department is run by three-time served engineers and an apprentice. The parts department is run by Parts Manager, David Fiske. The office is organised by Kushla Hanssen. Fiona McLaren, who won the prestigious Highland Business Woman of the Year Award 2009, is Company Secretary.
The business started off in small rented premises in Dingwall before buying Neil Ross Tractors’ building in 2013 just along the road. The building was extensively remodelled to suit the needs of a modern machinery dealership with wifi throughout and a new showroom area for the Massey Ferguson Groundcare machinery, toys and clothing.
